About South Valley #187

Current as of June 23, 2020 - A Corona Virus, Covid-19, Update

Hello Brothers, Family, and Friends,

As you know, we are currently living in unusual times which require us to make decisions for the greater good for all our family, friends, and neighbors in Santa Clara County, California, the USA, and the world.

On March 16, 2020, and now amended on June 5, 2020, the Santa Clara Public Health Department ordered all individuals living in the county to shelter at their place of residence due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) breakout. This includes “prohibiting all non-essential gatherings of any number of individuals and ordering the cessation of all non-essential travel.” There are exceptions to this order, and you can read the entire directive HERE for the details.

With this in mind, I am ordering the cancellation of all face-to-face meetings and activities related to South Valley Lodge, 187, until further notice.

We all must do what we can to limit the exposure and spread of this virus in our community.  The more we actively protect ourselves and others from this virus, the sooner we will be able to return to a more normal way of life.

In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe, and feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Fraternally yours,

Steve Chase
Worshipful Master
South Valley Lodge, 187

In addition, here is the message from John E. Trauner, Grand Master, Grand Lodge of F&AM of California concerning all lodge activities during the Covid-19 oubreak.  You can read his message here.

South Valley Lodge #187 is located in Morgan Hill, California.  We are a Masonic Lodge operating under the Most Worshifpul Grand Lodge of California.  The lodge as it currently exists is the result of the merger of Keith Lodge #187 in Gilroy and Morgan Hill Lodge #463 in Morgan Hill.  Our Charter dates to 1868.
